What The Program Is Not
Many of our ideas are new concepts in the USA. As a result, many people have trouble at first even understanding what we are trying to achieve and make their own theories regarding our missions and goals. Many assume that we are travel agency that specializes in group packages.
"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." is NOT a ravel agent. More so, our mission as to do more with overcoming crises in general and about values that include commitment, desire to win, people working together for greater cause and leadership than merely a travel program.
The fact is that many hotels, amusement parks, Museums and other tourist related business have their own marketing departments that regularly contact corporations offering them special group packages. This is a standard practice throughout the year.
After September 11th, many of those parties offered special group deals with even greater discounts. More so, every government official became a discount travel agent during those days. Never the less, the purpose of those deals at the end were profits. Therefore, the amounts of discounts they were able to provide were limited.
"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." philosophy is to arrange for visitors as soon as possible without the concern for profit. The profit will follow as soon as we bring the industry back to normal.
The standard programs offered by the institutions above after September 11th were not successful for the following reason:
After such disaster the public' desire to travel reduces times fold (for illustration let say by 3 times). Therefore, in theory, there is a need to reduce the prices of the travel packages by 66% just to get even. This is only in theory because in many cases people react much stronger to negative influence than to positive ones. Therefore, if the desire to travel reduces by 3 times then there is a need for discounts of about 80%-90%. This may be impossible to arrange - especially when so many middle parties are trying to profit from those packages.
You see; most programs (that I am aware of) are trying to overcome the lack of desire to travel only by providing discounts.
"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." has totally different approach. This is NOT a money issue but rather a character, attitude, patriotism and leadership issues. Therefore, whenever the desire to travel drastically reduces, it is up to the leaders to counter it not by just reduction prices but by increasing the desire to travel. It is up to them to inspire the public to travel in such times. This is what this program attends to do.
Note - the founder, Eytan Katz grew up in Israel where people had to take buses within minutes after they heard of other buses in the area been exploded. More so, supporters from all over the world came to Israel with the point of supporting Israel. People will never act in such a way just in order to take advantage of discounts. As a matter of fact, Eytan doe not even remember that they were offered any bus discounts. People acted in such way because they realized the importance of getting back to normal life.
Due to Eytan' experience, "Emergency Travel Infusion, inc." believes that the American leaders and the head of the different travel agencies and bureaus totally missed the point after September 11th and therefore failed to bring the travel industry back to normal.
"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." suggested program is NOT driven by discount, profit or by commission but it is driven by responsibility! The organization will achieve this by using leadership, group dynamics and setting specific goals!
The philosophy of this program is to set GOALS of number of visitors (not money!) per day and do whatever it takes in order to achieve those goals. This program concerns about the momentum created by mass number of people and NOT about profit.
The program does not arrange for profit but rather spreads the lost (or sacrifice) among thousands of companies and millions of people.
Ironically, it is true that this program will probably arrange for the best discounts ever. However, the main reason for this is so the travel industry would not get too comfortable with the program. This is a temporary emergency program that uses ONLY vacancy. As soon as the regular tourists pick up in numbers this program will be reduced and even canceled. Due to the great discounts, that pressure will come from the travel industry itself.
The reasons this program will arrange for greater discounts compare to any other one is because there is no middleman and the terms of the program are such that it will give priorities to the regular travelers whenever there is a conflict. We will reduce the program as the others kick in. This program just fills up the vacancy of all the other programs.
Let take New Orleans as an a example (this was written by October 2005): We could bring to New Orleans 60,000 a week with a great discount. Once tourism picks up and there is a conflict with the program we will NOT reduce the discount to match the regular tourist. Instead, we will reduce our group to 50,000 a week and keep providing them still with the same discounts as before.
As tourism picks up even more we will reduce the number of our groups to 40,000 per week (with keeping the same discount). This will continue to a point in which tourism is in a good level. Then we will discontinue the program.
"Emergency Travel Infusion, inc." believes this to be in different philosophy from any other program.
We claim that the success of this program will result in making every other program much more successful and easier! It is true that in the short run the travel related businesses will make - by using this program - only enough to cover their operation cost. However, within weeks this program will bring normality and inspire regular tourists to return. Then the travel industry will have full recovery.
