    Bailout

The Airline bailout had significant influence on the founder. It was a key event that inspired him weeks later to develop this proposed program.

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." expects that there will be government assistance to the airlines, hotels and other travel related business in order to assist them overcome times of crises. However, our main concern is of providing them a comfort Zone that will give them false sense of security and will cause them to loose their focus from eagerly working for fast and real recovery.

In addition, "Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." is concerned that bailouts normally help the owners of the businesses - not their employees and definitely not any of the associate services. The organization's concern is also towards the simple employees of the airlines (in the case of September 11th) and the associate services including busses and taxi drivers, food companies, entertainment services, shops, restaurants, etc.

There were some positive elements with the airline bailout of 2001. Some of its flow could be excused due to the short time in which it was established and with the fact the President and his administration had to deal with much more important issue - fighting the terrorists!

However, deeper examination shows that the flows were much more serious and even counter-productive. Some even suggest that the bailout was even a cause for the recession because the airlines received much more than what their losses were and as a result, they had no incentives to get the industry back on its feet.

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." believes that bailout could be great advantage to society if they are packaged in wisely ways. However, first, we need to do our best with better alternatives that will:

    1) Put pressure on the receiving parties to increase heir business in order to bring normality and provide jobs to their employees and related services.

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." would have gotten a commitment from the airlines to provide tickets to government employees and employees of other chosen trades (E.G military, police force, fire fighters, teachers, etc) to use within given period in exchange for the bailout. By doing so you benefit selected trades and use their trips in order to infuse many more related business (restaurants, buses, taxi, gift shops, etc) and their employees.

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." suggests in such situation that the government will provide their employees one-week free trip including flights and hotels that they will use within 3 months. In exchange, the employees will take a week off work and by that will reduce the government expanses during that period.

    2) Allow the government to claim back part of the bailout in case tourism is back on its feet and the receiving parties' losses were much smaller from what was expected.

According to our understanding, the airlines lost about $ 250M a day for a period of two and a half days. The amount of the bailout ($ 5B as a gift and potentially $10B extra as a loan) was much higher than the estimate lost at the time.

According to "Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." things will be different. Since parties - including the government - purchase discount ticket in exchange for the bailout, it is easy for the airlines and hotels to purchase back those discounted tickets and by that return back part of the bailout funds. This would be beneficiary to them whenever tourism is back on its feet.

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." suggests for the government to provide bailout in exchange for tickets at great discounts is important not only in order to save government money but more important in order to put pressure on the receiving industries to make effort in getting regular customers. After all, if tourism picks up faster than originally expected the receiving industries will be better of replacing the bailout with regular customers.

In a positive scenario in which tourism picks up there will be a conflict between those discounts tickets and the regular tourists. In such case the travel industry will ask for part of the tickets back. The government will return those tickets in exchange for reducing portion of the bailout.

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." strongly believes that the travel industry always should give priority to the regular tourists. As soon as tourism picks up, the public will reduce his participation with using our ideas.

Remind you that bailout is basically about the public helping the private companies. This makes it legitimate to ask about what the companies are willing to do in order to help the public during times of crises.

The management of the American companies include some of the most creative, winning oriented, energetic and smart minds of the world. Wasn't the period after September 11th the time in which they should have all called the President and inform him that they are willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES in order to save the economy?

"Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." conclusion is that the business and financial leaders of the private sector must step up to the plate and offer their personal help in order to get the nation out of the crises. "Emergency Travel Infusion, Inc." will set high expectations from them because this is what it takes to overcome crises.
